Magogodi Wamphela Makhene

Magogodi Wamphela Makhene is a Soweto-made soul. Her essays and stories have been published in Salon, Guernica, and An Ethical Compass: Coming of Age in the 21st Century, a Yale University Press anthology edited by Elie Wiesel. She holds graduate degrees from NYU, where she was a Reynolds Fellow for Social Entrepreneurship and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Truman Capote Fellow.
