Kanchana Ugbabe

Kanchana Ugbabe was born and raised in Chennai, India and received her PhD in Australia. She has been a Scholar at Risk and Visiting Scholar with Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard University (2016–17) and a Writer at Risk and professor of creative writing at Fordham University. Her collection of stories, Soulmates, was published by Penguin in 2011. She currently spends her time writing in Jos, Nigeria, where she lives with her husband and extended family.
