J.D. Smith's seventh poetry collection, The Place That Is Coming to Us, will be published by Broadstone Books in 2025. His first fiction collection, Transit, was published by Unsolicited Press in 2022. He works in Washington, DC, where he lives with his wife Paula Van Lare and their rescue animals.
