Edward Hirsch

Edward Hirsch, a MacArthur Fellow, taught with Adam Zagajewski for fifteen years at the University of Houston before becoming president of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation in 2003. He has published ten books of poems, including Gabriel: A Poem (2014) and Stranger by Night (2020), as well as six prose books about poetry, most recently 100 Poems to Break Your Heart (2021). He lives in Brooklyn.
