Dannye Powell

Dannye Romine Powell is the author of three collections of poetry from the University of Arkansas Press, two of which, The Ecstasy of Regret (2002) and A Necklace of Bees (2008), won the Brockman-Campbell Award. A recipient of fellowships from the NEA and the NC Arts Council, she was a resident at Yaddo in 2004. Her poems have appeared in numerous journals, including Poetry, Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, San Pedro River Poetry Review, Memoir, and Tar River. For 17 years, she was the book review editor of the Charlotte Observer, where she is now a local news columnist.
