Arseny Tarkovsky
Arseny Tarkovsky (1907-1989), father of the Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, worked as a translator of poetry and as a war-correspondent. He published his own first book of poetry only at age 55, during Khrushchev's Thaw in 1962. His work did not gain recognition until late in life, through its defining presence in the great films of his son.
