Kelly Cherry

Kelly Cherry is the author of 25 books of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, 10 chapbooks, and 2 translations of classical drama. Her most recent title is Quartet for J. Robert Oppenheimer (poems). She is the former Poet Laureate of Virginia, and an Emeritus Member of the Poets Corner at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, in New York City. She is also an inaugural recipient of the Hanes Poetry Prize from the Fellowship of Southern Writers, NEA, USIA, Rockefeller, Bradley Lifetime Award, Phillabaum Award, Weinstein Award, and other awards. She is currently the Eudora Welty Professor Emerita of English and Evjue-Bascom Professor Emerita in the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
